Newnham College Festival of Arts, Science and Ideas (July 2022),
Co-curator of the Literature Strand of a two-day Festival, with speakers including novelists Margaret Drabble, Jen Ashworth and Beth Morrey and biographer Mathelinda Nabugodi. We welcomed a diverse international audience, as well as local residents, to the Festival, and our literary events were a major attractions.
I was host of the Book Tent, with talks ranging from children’s books to decolonisation. I chaired a discussion on sexism in women’s commercial fiction. I compered a open mic night, with participants of all ages. I ran a poetry workshop for all ages, which included both writing activities and a discussion about what poetry means today.
Midsummer Garden Poetry Festival (June 2022)
Co-curator and co-organiser of the three-day Festival, headlined by Carol Ann Duffy, and with a number of Midlands poets reading. I was compere of the Open Mic and hosted the evening reading, as well as reading my own poetry.
King’s Place (Illicit) Poets reading (2021)
Organised and hosted a poetry reading during lockdown, taking place via Zoom. 6 poets read for an international audience. The King’s Place (Illicit) Poets are a group of poets and spoken word artists who gathered and workshopped our poetry at King’s Place in London. During lockdown, the group transitioned online.
Poetry workshop for Newnham College Poetry Society (2021)
Co-led a poetry workshop on writing in response to other art forms, including paintings and music.
