Harriet Truscott is a poet, PhD student and arts organiser, living on the edge of the East Anglian fens.
Her poetry appears in journals including Magma Poetry, Poetry Wales, Under the Radar and The Dark Horse. Her work explores themes of place, family and memory – and also sex, pigeons and apple crumble.
Harriet has co-curated two literary festivals, and edited a range of publications. She’s worked as a science communicator at the University of Cambridge, and as Director of Communications for Newnham College, Cambridge.

She is now a PhD student at the University of East Anglia (UEA), working on a Critical Creative PhD in the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing. The PhD combines a critical thesis, looking at the role of visual space in poetry, and a verse novel, telling a family story of the legacy of the Spanish Civil War. Harriet’s research is funded by the CHASE Doctoral Training Partnership.
Harriet is always interested in opportunities to bring poetry to new audiences, through readings, activities or residences: please get in touch to discuss ideas.
